Brown Sardina is currently working with Stonehill College on a variety of interesting projects. Located in the city of Easton, Massachusetts, it is surrounded by unique architectural heritage that includes work by HH Richardson and Landscape Architect Frederick Law Olmsted. The proposed new entry to the Stonehill Campus, the associated new campus drive and the new science center quad were laid out to recall this impressive patronage.
The collective design work at Stonehill has transitioned the Stonehill Campus from a vehicular campus to a pedestrian campus, preserving the campus core for the pedestrian experience. This transition is celebrated with the new science center quad which offers a variety of spaces for students and faculty. A ‘bowl’ is carved into the edge of the quad offering an alluring lawn for residence of O’Hara Hall. A plaza is laid out in the center of the quad offering an impressive space that will host convocation ceremonies.
