Brown Sardina has recently assisted in the development of a master plan for the Asian University for Women (AUW) based in Chittagong Bangladesh. The University is focused on the education and empowerment of women. Recruiting students from across the region, the AUW will bring together highly talented women from diverse economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
We are working to integrate a site approach based on natural systems, where energy is conserved, wastes are recycled and resources made more abundant. Native plant communities with seasonal displays of color and fragrance will be used to intensify microclimate characteristics and connect the students, faculty and visitors of the Asian University for Women to place. As part of an educational institution, the goal of the landscape design is to enrich this experience by adding another component of cultural significance for the residents to contemplate and offering program specific to the learning process where applicable.
