Salisbury School - Richard T. Flood Athletic Center

The Richard T Flood Athletic Center was recently completed and occupied. The Center houses all of the School’s indoor athletic and recreational space. It includes squash courts, basketball courts, a wrestling area, hockey rink, a fitness center, and reception area.
The building is located on a sloping site which afforded the opportunity for entrances at multiple levels to serve is many functions. An outdoor plaza area features an "extensive" sedum roof over the fitness center which combines sedum planting with native New England Plants. Parking is integrated into the sloping topography on two levels and connected by pedestrian walks and stairs. Adjacent wetland areas were sensitively integrated into the overall site design. |
